Introducing 2013 SUPER GT sponsors


Boasting massive popularity not only in Japan but also overseas, the scale of AUTOBACS SUPER GT Series as an event is gigantic, and there are a number of various sponsors that support it.
Here are the sponsors of 2013 series including AUTOBACS SEVEN CO., LTD, the series title sponsor.

AUTOBASCS SEVEN CO., LTD: The largest retailer chain of automobile related goods with 530 stores in Japan. Its service offerings also include car inspection/maintenance, auto sales/purchasing, etc. Under its motto “To make all drivers a fan of automobile,” the company is proactive in supporting environment around cars as well as motorsports. It has been providing extensive support to the series with the title sponsorship, which is entering its 16th year, as well as with “AUTOBACS RACING TEAM AGURI” in the GT500 and GT300, one of the most popular team in the series, which all are a success factor of the SUPER GT.

Lexus: Luxury car brand of Toyota Motor Corporation established in 1989. Cars manufactured under the brand are not only premium but also safe, reliable, and economic and supported by services that enrich users’ experience with a car.



NISSAN MOTOR CO., LTD: Established in 1933 under the current name. It became a global automaker by producing cars with excellent performance, which gave the company a reputation of “Nissan of Technology.” The company has been proactive in participating to motorsports, and competing in the safari rally and the Le Mans 24 Hour from early years.



Honda Motor Co., Ltd: Established in 1948 by Soichiro Honda. The company receives global recognition for its craftsmanship to build cars with unique characteristics based on its proactive attitude towards innovative and creative technologies. The company has been challenging numerous big races of two-wheel as well as four-wheel from its early years, and is involved with motorsports extensively even today.



Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd: Known by its brand “Subaru,” the company is also a leading enterprise in sectors including aerospace. There are many dedicated fans that support company’s commitment to focus on “Driving” and “Technology.” Subaru has won constructor’s championship three times in the World Rally Championship.



J SPORTS Corporation: Exclusive sports television broadcaster operating four channels in satellite broadcasting. Its potential viewer exceeds 7.61 million households (as of July, 2011). It broadcasts live eight series events and the JAF GP as the official broadcaster of SUPER GT. A team that showed outstanding performance in a race is presented with “J SPORTS Best Performance Award.”



Polyphony Digital Inc.: Development company of “Grand Turismo” series, a global hit, driving simulation video game that is acclaimed for its elegant graphics and maneuvering feeling that is authentic to the real car. In recent days, the company is also involved with development of a display as well as with PR movie productions of real life cars. SUPER GT cars are showcased in the “Gran Turismo,” widening fan base for both sides.



ZF Friedrichshafen AG: German auto parts manufacturer with nearly 100 year history in supplying parts to motorsports such as DTM, etc. Many top teams in the world are selecting their products for the quality and reliability. ZF logo and URL are placed on the car number sticker on all race cars in the SUPER GT from this season.

MMP Co., Ltd: Operates/manufactures a top brand of miniature car, “EBBRO.” It has established global reputation for producing highly precise miniature racing cars including SUPER GT cars. “EBBRO Pole Position Award” is presented to the pole sitter of each race.



BMW AG: German automaker established in 1917. It is highly recognized for its high quality premium touring cars, and also has proven record in motorcycle and aircrafts.



Freescale Semiconductor, Inc.: Develops CPU, IC, sensors, etc. and supplies embedded computers and small and high precision sensors to automobile manufacturers.



Bridgestone Corporation: Largest tire manufacturer in the world. The company also produces sporting goods and industrial rubber products besides tires. It was an official tire supplier of the Formula One, and currently holds the most wins in the GT500 class of SUPER GT.



The Yokohama Rubber Company, Limited: Well know by the motorsports fans for its superior performance tire brand, “ADVAN.” Its credential includes designation as official tire of many big races including the WTCC.



Sumitomo Rubber Industries, Ltd.: Started operation under a partnership with Dunlop of Great Britain. Then the company took over the tire business, and presently operates Dunlop tire business in Japan, Europe, and US. It is an established brand in the motorsports.



NIHON MICHELIN TIRE CO., LTD.: A tire manufacturer which is a representative enterprise of France and boasts the second largest market share in the world. Its proven track record includes an official suppler of F1, two consecutive championship in the GT500 class of SUPER GT, etc. The company is also popular as a publisher of gourmet guide book.



Porsche Japan KK: A German automaker that develops luxury sports cars and racing cars. It is a prestigious name in motorsports with numerous wins and titles in endurance and GT races since its foundation in 1930’s.



JVC KENWOOD Corporation: Two of the top brands in audio equipments, “Victor (JVC)” and Kenwood, merged in 2008. It is also a popular brand in car audio as well as car navigation system.
